What Is Sheet Metal
Sheet metal is one of metal can be shaped or formed from the standard thickness metal sheet. Normal its thickness in between 0.5mm…6 mm. They’re huge used in our life and can see everywhere from cars, electronic and industries product to furniture. All can manufacture from prototyping to volume production at US-RAPID.

Forming Processes of Sheet Metal
There’re series methods for forming sheet metal parts. It can be bending, curling, expanding, laser cutting, punching and so on.
We can make them based on the design and choose the economic methods for our products. Different methods get it seemingly similar but it needs to comes down to cost, availability and desired accuracy. Of course, machine them in batches will cost much more effective.


The Standard Material in Stock
Almost all the common engineering metals are used in the form of the sheets. What we use often are aluminum, Carbon steel, stainless steel , copper, brass. We can do with the better one for you as the application and requirement of your products. For precision applications, cold rolled steels are preferred as it need to more control over the final dimensions. Because the hot rolled steels, after cooling, the steel shrinks slightly and the shape might change a little.
